It’s nearly impossible to make sense of childhood diseases, and sometimes the only thing to do is throw a lavish fundraiser to help ensure that future generations of children won’t have to deal with life-threatening diseases. The Children’s Ball, a black tie and white dress affair at the Washington, D.C. Ritz-Carlton did just that. The event raised an incredible $10.7 million for Children’s National Medical Center, through donations and an auction, breaking records for the institution.
The spirit of the attendees remained high, especially when presented with the most adorable auction item ever–a black lab puppy. A surprise performance by Jennifer Hudson “Dream a Little Dream” served as the theme for the evening, letting everyone take part in an uplifting mood, despite the more somber reason for the event.
Chef Nobu even contributed to the cause, teaming up with Wolfgang Puck to provide food for the event, which was of course a hit with the guests. We are thrilled to have Nobu cuisine served at such a worthy and successful event.
